(This is my first critique on DA, hope you enjoy it! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>)

This photo initially came to me as a thumbnail, amongst dozens of others during my daily inbox clear-up. The reason this one caught my eye over the others? The color scheme of this shot lends itself so well to the ambiance and the somber mood; it's rare to see such a color in both the sky and the water. The only thing that separates the two is mostly the man made structures, predominately the bridge and far-off buildings.

I think the effect of this is that it gives off the feeling of it being an old scene, which judging by the title you gave it, is what you were going for. In newer, more urban-dominated places, you would struggle to find a scape with a similar effect, so the locale also lends itself well to the theme of the shot.

If I were to suggest something for you to improve on, I'd say that although I like the effect you chose to apply, it does take away from the quality somewhat. I completely get what you were going for, but I think i'd like this photo even more if you could see some more minor detail, such as the reflection of the bridge in the water.

I also like the use of space, in that you left the sky open, whereas I think a lot of photographers would opt to cut it down, even just a little.
Overall, a subtly powerful piece that effectively achieves the portrayal of the theme of time.
